Coldwater Mill

The Coldwater, Michigan mill was built in 1979 and was purchased by Dean Calhoun in December of 1991. Coldwater Veneer, Inc. has 160 employees who operate 3 Cremona Slicers, 1 Capital half-round, and 4 Cremona Press Dryers.

From his early days working in his family’s sawmill in Indiana, Dean Calhoun learned the value of quality and craftsmanship. When he purchased Coldwater Veneer, he carried those values with him, growing the company through a relentless focus on premium logs and advanced manufacturing. His vision has made CVI a trusted source of the industry’s finest veneer.

His precision, expertise, and Known for his sharp eye and unwavering commitment to quality have earned him worldwide respect in the veneer industry.

CFO

Allen brings 10 years of public accounting experience and 30 years in both private and public manufacturing companies. He joined Coldwater Veneer in 2023, adding deep financial and operational expertise to the team.

Don Steffey

V.P. Sales

Don started his career at International Veneer Co in 1979. He worked there for 17 years and then started his own Veneer Sales Company. He joined Coldwater Veneer in year 2012 and is a vital contributor to our organization.

Tony entered the veneer industry in 1995 and has spent his career building strong international sales expertise. Since joining Coldwater Veneer in 2019, he has become an integral part of our management team.
